WELCOME TO OUR WEBSITE & OUR LODGE - The Friendliest Place in Town!
From the Governor & the Publications Committee -

Welcome to the new Beaufort Lodge #1855 & WOTM Chapter #2319 Moose Pages website.

I hope that each of you will share this website address with those who may not have heard about our new means of communicating with our members and guest, and encourage them to visit and support our Lodge, our activities and all that Moose stands for.

The Beaufort Moose Lodge (founded in 1957) is a unit of the Loyal Order of Moose, a fraternal and service organization founded in 1888, with nearly 1.5 million men and women in roughly 2,000 Lodges and 1600 chapters, in all 50 states and four Canadian provinces, plus Great Britain and Bermuda.

Along with other units of Moose International, the Beaufort Moose supports the operation of Mooseheart Child City & School, a 1,000-acre community for children and teens in need, located 40 miles west of Chicago; and Moosehaven, a 63-acre retirement community for its members near Jacksonville, FL. Additionally, Moose Lodges conduct approximately $93 million worth of community service (counting monetary donations and volunteer hours worked) annually. The Beaufort Moose Lodge is a nonprofit organization devoted to community service.

Because Moose members give of themselves in service, we help brighten the horizons for communities throughout the Moose domain.

Should you want to have an event posted to the Lodge calendar – please don’t hesitate to contact me at the Lodge and have your information considered for publication on our site.

We are continually looking for updates and information from the leadership in our LOOM, WOTM and from the Moose Legion to include on our website.

Give some thought to and discuss with your fellow members and officers YOUR ideas for our Lodge and our membership and any other ideas in regards to activities that you may have for the betterment of Beaufort Moose Lodge #1855 & our WOTM Chapter #2319.

FROM Tony Gurganious (Administrator & Social Quarters Manager):

This Lodge is working very hard to make this a better place for all its members and their guests.

I want to take this time to thank everyone for their participation in the jobs that they have volunteered to do and the efforts of those who are assisting us in refurbishing the pool room, hall and both the men's and ladies restrooms.

We encourage everyone to come out and see what we are doing to improve YOUR Lodge and hope you will enjoy what improvements we have been done. We have come a long way and still have a ways to go yet but with time, your patience and understanding approval we will continue to succeed. Lets all work together to make Beaufort Lodge #1855 the best Moose Lodge in our District.

Effective January 10th, the hours of operation on Sundays at our Lodge were changed to opening from 3-9 pm. This was due strictly from a business stand point and the fact that we had very little business (if any sometimes) from opening at noon until later in the afternoons. We will see how the new hours go for now and if there is enough continued interest, we may reconsider Sunday hours in the future should events make it needed.

How many of you can reach into your purse or wallet right now and produce your VALID Moose Membership card? We have begun strictly enforcing all members to show their valid membership card upon entry in to the Lodge and before you can be served in the Social Quarters. This is a requirement by Moose International and as directed in the General By-laws that unfortunately we haven’t been as strict on – that stops now. This is for the benefit of all our members and to ensure that we can identify them, identify our guests and can notice if your membership is due to expire soon and offer you the chance to pay your dues there at the Lodge (keeping you valid and a member in good standing.) If you have any questions or problems, please see me or Brother Stitch. ** (Reminder NEW member dues are $70 annually and renewals are $50 annually & if you pay at the Lodge, ensure you retain your paper temporary receipt until you get your new card. Showing this receipt will suffice the requirement of your card until it is received).

Keeping our Lodge home and the Social Quarters area clean and presentable is a task that each and every member ought to take to heart. This is our Lodge and we need to take pride in that fact; help the duty bartenders, pick up after yourself (rarely do we have the privilege of a waiter or waitress to do it for us), even if you just offer to help take out the trash. This also pertains to the areas around our Lodge - both inside and out. A little help from everyone will make a world of difference for us all & in the eyes of everyone else who visits our Lodge.

Attention all LOOM, WOTM and Legion members – as your Administrator and Social Quarters Manager, I am constantly looking for anyone who might be interested in working at the Lodge as a volunteer bartender (and Gunny is always looking for volunteer cooks for Burger and Steak Nights.) You must be TIPS trained (certified) to work behnd the bar but the Lodge will reimburse you the minimal expense upon successful completion of this training. Contact me or Shirley Bowman (Asst. Social Quarters Manager) for the TIPS website address and code to reduce the initial cost OR to find out more details about helping out at our Lodge. If we don’t get a few more certified bartenders, we may be forced to close the Lodge on certain nights due to lack of qualified help.
